BLACKHALL put in a shocking display as they were thrashed by nine wickets at Marske.
Hall didn’t help there own cause by making a bizarre decision to bat first on a drying wicket and they were soon in trouble at 29 for 4.
With the new ball jagging about, Warren Swan, John Darby, Tony Booth and Owen Gwyn found themselves back in the hutch inside the first 15 overs.
But Anthony Gray and Masood Mirza dug in and compiled a patient partnership of 43 before the former chipped one to mid on.
Mirza was by now fighting a lone battle and his 55 was more than half of the visiting side’s total of 109 all out.
If Hall were to get back into the game, they had to get rid of Rob Nicol early.
They failed to do so, however, and the classy New Zealander – the leading runs scorer in the NYSD Premier League – went on to compile a classy 76 not out.
Swan took the only wicket to fall and this heavy defeat leaves the Collierymen looking nervously over their shoulders.
With 12 games left this season, Hall are third bottom, just 32 points ahead of bottom side Redcar and with plenty of food for thought.
Tomorrow night, Hall are at home to the mighty Middlesbrough in their second game of the NYSD15s group stage (6.30pm start).

Marske (20 points) beat Blackhall (one) by nine wickets.

It was painful to watch. Rob Nicol was quality lyk. I cant remember to many that didnt hit the middle of his bat. Sad

When you put sumit on here a while ago i said we were far from safe ourselves. Thats definetly true now. We are gona have to start batting second now in my opinion, especially against teams around us. We need to pick up as many points off them as possible and more importantly make sure we dont get beat off them.

i dont sea many games but i hope that the club find sum form. ready the posts it seems that the the firsts only have 3 players, swann, mizra, darby who contribute oftan.
